Title: WTB Turbo kit for 1983 Rabbit 1.6na diesel.
Post by: acidtonic on June 03, 2017, 10:57:43 pm
I purchased a very nice MK1 Rabbit NA 1.6 diesel that I'd like to make into an Eco Turbo.

Looking for less of a headache by buying an entire kit. Header, intake, intercooler, turbo, downpipe, piping, etc.

Not looking for power really, just love the diesel sound and need a turbo whistle to complement it. Car is purely a toy and driving short distances from home literally as gentle as you could imagine just putting around on side roads going slow.

Located in Waterford Michigan 48328 for shipping.

From what i recall, the only major difference is the 1.6td has oil squirters for cooling the pistons.

Lots of folks have done it safely. The TD blocks have different pistons, oil squirters and a different head however the NA is pretty stout in its own right. Keep EGTs below 1200F and it'll last forever.
