At the risk of sounding stupid, is there any danger mounting the cylindrical fuel filter on its side? I'm kind of tight on space and laying it flat would really help. Anybody know?

The fuel filter should be mounted upright to make bleeding the air out easier and because it also acts as a water separator which depends on its upright orientation.
