they both have extra plugs, my guess is that the second picture, which is the one on my mk1 coupe, i think that ones a w but i'm not sure as it's not marked.

now that i looked at them, they both are, which is fantastic! but on a side note, the "W" was very difficult to read, i was looking at a third alternator i had laying around, and i saw it said W beside an open square, so i looked at the same spot on the alternator not in my car, and of course it had a little terminal, and i looked again in that spot on my car, which is where the terminal is with the big plastic connector around it.

Some alternators have an extra terminal for a noise suppressor. If you have a metal or plastic block hooked to it it's almost certainly a noise suppressor.
But if it's marked W then you should be good to go.

nah cause the noise suppressor is the oen marked D+ or something, and they both have that, plus another terminal, so definetly W terminals
