Title: New alternator ???

Hey guys looking for a new alternator for my 1990 golf gtd want something a bit more powerful than standard anyone got any suggestions I don't even know where to start any help would be much appreciated

I think the 90A one for AC-equipped cars is the biggest you can go while staying with stock-type alternators.  However that should be far far more than you need unless you have a crazy stereo or something.  What problem are you trying to solve?

Battery light is flickering checked belt tension all fine but on putting out 11 volts ish so wanted to replace and I'm running some audio nothing huge just small set up so need something to replace original

Could be but if I change it and it's fine I'll need to change the whole thing anyway

So, let me get this straight.....you want a definitive answer/diagnosis without putting ANY effort into it yourself.....right? Wow.

You probably need brushes on the existing regulator and a smoothening out of the slip rings.

There....the ball is in your court. What are you going to do now?

What's with the keyboard gangster  routine in what way was I not putting any effort in I was simply asking advise from what I thought would be more knowledgeable ppl but in your case it seems all I done was give you an reason to act like an *** mtrans and vanbcguy thank you for your help managed to source a replacement with a bit more power than the original dakotakid have a word with yourself
