Title: Engine mount question
Post by: phaetonv10 on January 20, 2015, 10:33:47 pm
Hello people.

Is this engine mount an upgrade for the 1.6td or a Downgrade???

I installed this and my car started vibrating like an earthquake.

Should I change back to stock??

Did you notice a change in the pitch of the engine angle?

Those mounts don't seem to compress from engine weight as much as stock mounts. So, other parts with small clearances may make contact with the chassis.

Yea. The engine seemed to be a little tilted. But all seems clear. Nothing in contact with the chassis.
But I feel engine vibrations are significantly higher inside the cabin.

I've been running a right hydro in my 86 Jetta for about a month, to see if the mount will compress over time. (Not much yet. ) My engine seems to be an inch higher on the right, but my stock mount was shot, so it's kinda hard to say the real height difference, unless I put a new stock mount in to compare.

I think the vibration is reduced in my case; but like I said, the previous mount was toast.
