Title: Bosch Injection Pump "Cleaning"
Post by: Sansocal on November 27, 2014, 12:29:47 pm
Is there any way to clean out the internals of a bosch injection pump? I took out the fuel stop solenoid and I saw some crap in the pump... It looked like pine needles.     ???      Yes the filter is new

Next time you install a new fuel filter, you should fill it with diesel instead of pine needles.   :P

The stop port is pretty small... not likely for large debris to get into the IP or be visible at that port. I'd be interested to see a picture.

The IP can be opened and cleaned, but it's a bit of a fiddly job and easy to screw stuff up.

That's a tdi but the idea is the same for any diesel.
