Title: Cold start aid cable housing retainer?
Post by: TimpanogosSlim on November 11, 2014, 10:07:59 pm
I seem to have misplaced the clip that secures the housing of the cold start aid cable to the IP on my 1.6td.

I'm going to take some time and go through the places it might be lurking but it seems prudent to start trying to source a replacement.

What exactly do you need for this?

My MK1 pumps just came with a simple "E" clip like this...

My MK2 pumps have a more special clip like this...

I had the 2nd kind on my engine when i took it apart.

In fact i've had that in my hand in the last several weeks. dunno wtf it went.

hadn't considered that there might be an e-clip that fits and works

OK, just confirmed that a 3/8" e-clip from lowes works just fine for this
