Title: Part Number for Alternator Pulley - Mk2 diesel with A/C
Post by: bhtooefr on March 23, 2006, 10:38:43 am
Well, the subject says it all.

The PO put the WRONG pulley on my car. VAGCAT and ETKA are being of no help, not telling me what's an AC pulley and what's a non-AC pulley. They're telling me what alternator they go on, though, so is there a different ALTERNATOR for cars with AC, then?

From pictures, I've seen that the AC pulley is smaller in both diameter and width.

So, what's the part number?

I was messing around, converting my Golf to a 90 amp non-AC setup and didn't see a part number on any of the alternator pullys I saw.

Well, I ordered a pulley - the parts guy found that there was only one alternator that should be on a Mk2 diesel, and only one pulley for an AC-equipped Mk2 diesel with AC, so that one's ordered. Hopefully that'll work.
