Title: MK 3 help
Post by: fdnyguy on February 20, 2014, 11:36:29 am
Hey, guys. Its been awhile, hope all is well. I sold the Mk2 and got a Mk3. HOWEVER....lol its been im the shop for 3 weeks because of (Gasp!!) electrical issues. Most have been solved save one. The A/C stays on CONTINOUSLY. He tried replacing the switch and a few other things. So if there are any suggestions, please drop them. I posted on TDI and got NO response since 2/8. I do tink its a more friendly group here, even with a Mk3. Thanks in advance.

Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy.

There is an AC relay that could be sticking. Without looking at the wiring diagram, i'm pretty sure that and the switch are the only things that would force it to stay on. Unless you have a short somewhere

Are the fans running too? Or just the compressor?

Both fan and compressor run. Relay was checked. Seemed to be good

Not sure if the Mk3 has this or not, but you don't have the heater control set to 'Defog' do you?
