In the forum/FAQ there is a mention of"Jan B's cheap head studs", anybody
have anymore informations?Raceware is not that cheap,and not in Europe! :?:

I think that that post is refering to using industrial metric studs that can be purchased from supply houses.
I'm going to give them a try, I bought M12x1.75x140 studs from MSC Supply here in the States for about $2.50 ea.
How do they work? Well, when I get it all back together I'll let you know  :wink:

Andy2 has done some pioneering work experimenting with using 12.9 classification metric capscrews in place of head bolts.  He gives some torque readings he used in this thread:

Anybody know the thread pitch of the top (nut) end of the Raceware studs? I thought they were pretty fine to reduce the amount of torque needed to get a certain clamping force. 1.75 seems a little coarse to me... not that I know anything about this stuff.
