Title: engine harness
Post by: audilvr on January 18, 2014, 10:26:35 am
anyone ever build their own engine harness? I'm looking to do this as mine is a bit hacked. wondering if anyone has any advice or maybe a schematic for a simplified harness. the only ad on's are a vdo oil pressure, vdo water temp, and a vdo volt.

If you are doing an IDI engine harness then you really only have a handful of wires. Glow plugs, fuel shutoff, 2 temp sensors, 2 oil pressure sensors... The alternator / starter only have a few each as well.

It's not particularly complex really as long as you are just staying with the engine wiring.

that was my thoughts exactly, for how simple it is I'd rather have it fresh than a repaired mess. I'm having trouble locating the tool for pulling the pins out of the connectors though.

unfold a paper clip bend it into a skinny horse shoe and flatten the ends with a hammer.

I was looking at this site for the replacement pins but I'm not sure which ones. i'm thinking 192175 might be the right ones for the fuse box connections
