Hi boys (and girls) im back, after many months of being gone..
Finally got paid out for my Audi CGT that got wrecked in July...
still not alot of diesel in my life right now tho...
i missed you guys
(except Catlin & Jeremy <3)

Also, a sidenote..
I recently realized that ive officially put 100,000 miles on my 86 GTI...
its time to service the clutch, re-seal the transmixer, replace the timing belt AGAIN, maybe some new drive axles, re-pack rear wheel bearings, and install new seals, and most importantly, some new shoes!!
ive put atleast 50k miles on these ones, and prolly 50k burn outs too...
(still running the original clutch from 1986, with over 265k miles on it now, and it still doesnt slip!)
-
Glad to see you have returned. Where did you go? Iceland?
-
I think he lived under a bridge off I 84 in Portland. Some where near 122nd street.

im sure i do ALOT more dropping the hammer than you do as well..
it feels like the pressure plate is starting to get stiff tho..
only reason im going to replace my clutch, is because i have a brand new kit, and im probably going to pull the trans to re-seal the drive flanges..
my trans drips about 1 drop per day..
-
Mine drips like 3L everytime I use it..
Horrible.

remove your drainplug, and just go to a dry sump system then!!

yea, its soo sad...
i think the crack bunny was a step up from a digi cabby...
-
Not as good as a Diesel.. but better than the rest lol.
-
Wish we could see Baron Von Zepplin and ARB once in a while. Would love to know how the 1.6 minivan is doing.
-
We haven't heard from BVZ in awhile. Hoping he'll be back soon. He's a great guy.
-
BVZ one of my original mentors.

I miss Vince…
Bet you never thought I of all people, would be the one to bring up Vincent Waldon!!

I do still check in here from time to time.. Life seems to be cutting into my fun time as I'm sure it does for the rest of you..
It is true that the crackbunny has been put to rest and replaced with a digi (for now) cabby.. I have the new engine that was going to be for the crackbunny, I think it'll look real spiffy in that cabby.. Although other than the crappy mileage I must say when it works, this is one of the best running digi 1.8's I've ever driven.. The PO claimed to so some engine work, but I have no idea what..
At the least I'm still mostly motoring on diesel power thanks to my wonderfully engineered Oldsmobile diesel..
Any words from BVZ?? I too used to enjoy my chats with him..
