I want to get a basic set of timing tools so I can work on my 1.6TD Caddy.
I found these on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35625&item=2486460458
Does anyone have any experience with this set or the retailer?
Do you think it will work? I have a dail indicator I can use so that's not to worry.

I just did the timing belt on my 1.6td.
Those are at least some of the right tools.
One of them is the camshaft plate that locks the cam in position at top dead center, one is a pin that locks the pump pully in place, and there is also a belt tensioner wrench in the picture. I don't know what the others are. Hey could you tell me how you found that listing on ebay? I should invest in those tools myself instead of borrowing and improvising as I did with my timing belt installation. - THX - Rich

I have since bought a NAPA set of the timing tools. They work very well.
As far as how I found this auction, I remember stumbling across it at one point and seeing that they were made by El Paso Tools. I sumbled my way into another one of his auctions and then searched through the rest of his auctions until I found these tools again. They're pretty much on all the time.
