Title: FS: Recaro Seats Power front and rear for mk2 Jetta.
Post by: spencebm on August 27, 2013, 02:46:28 pm
These seats are in amazing shape.  They have power bases in the front and the back is immaculate.  Someone wanted these from me a long time ago and I need to give them up.  I don't want to ship them but I will if someone pays for it.  $400 for everything.

you would damb near have to box it up for a true price... i think your best bet is road trip to him.. no way id be wiling to ship myself... but id take your money, say $400 and drop them off to a place to box and ship with cod on that cost... how i would...

may be talk to bbob.. see if he goes to your area at all and pay him to pick up/drop off... else he has some job that he gets breaks on fed-ex... but will not be small light box... so i just cannot fathom cost..

Shipping info on mine when I got a set of fronts shipped to me in a power wheels box.

They had the weight at 99 pounds and charge right around $100.

I miss my Recaros :(

Ditto. More comfy than my 09, which I miss as well. Looking @ a 98 TDI, and just bought a 13 Passat TDI. No more toys. Divorce, knock some bills down, then house. LOL (Tyler, I'll keep looking for Canadian ones. Customs is just a form and a letter from VW that it complies with US emission. ANY other info, drop me a line. Sorry for the hijack, but I may need Recaros for the Mk3 if I buy it.

Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy.

I would have to box them up and take them to UPS to be sure.  Tracking and insurance of course.  we are talking about serious money and I wont take them to UPS unless Im sure they are sold.  Help me out with figuring out the shipping costs and ill box them and take them there.

You can get replacement foam side bolsters for these on Ebay... about $80.
I have a set, I took off the upholstery and put it in the laundomat, one new driver's side bolster, and they look like new.
A red sharpie works nicely to restore the logo.

Shipping with greyhound is your best bet.

When I shipped my recaros to California I went to walmart around the time of night they were restocking shelves and had them give me the box that held their largest rubber maid tote.

I took the backs off the seats and arranged them to fit. Wrapped the whole thing in gorilla tape $$$ and had my girlfriend take it to the greyhound station.....

(Some how she lifted it onto the top of her chevy corsica and tied it with hair ribbons or something and made the 2 mile trip to the grey hound station where she somehow unloaded it and got it shipped... for like $80. She is about 100# soaking wet and claims she fell off the roof of the car three times in the process. I am still super impressed.)

So yeah... $80. GreyHound is awesome.

If I had any offers I would ship them!  I've shipped some through greyhound before and it was easy.
