I am not sure about PVC - I think it would be fine as I believe the line from the fuel filter to the IP is made of it; but I run BioDiesel in my Rabbit and am replacing all the lines with Viton (a kind of synthetic line commonly used in the newer TDis.)

You can usually buy it in bulk (I am getting it from a local VW Shop.)

I'm not sure; I have yet to go and pick it up (My Rabbit is still in Winter hibernation ;)) but the price might be different here anyway (I'm in Canada eh?).
When I find out I'll post here though :). You could also ask on tdiclub.com; they might know as it's the standard fuel line material for TDis.

p.s. I know it's not cheap, but it is "BioDiesel-proof" and designed to last a long time.

Viton is more heat resistant, and costs $10-15 per foot.

Urethane is more abrasion resistant, and costs $1-2 per foot.

Guess which one I'm gonna use in my car. ;)

Another thing: viton can be hard to find. Urethane, however, can be found at any motorcycle shop worth their salt.

And, I'm gonna hijack the thread, and ask a question...

What are the dimensions of the fuel line that needs to be replaced to biodiesel-proof a Mk2 1.6NA?
