Title: what happened to quotes?
Post by: 92EcoDiesel Jetta on August 19, 2013, 08:30:12 pm
What's going one with quotes? There is a start quote but no end quote so you can't easily tell who wrote what without going back to read the posts. It was not like this before. Am I the only one  notcing this?

Works for me

The Samba requires you to click once at the start and once at the end.

I don't do anything special I just click the quote to quote someone. same thing other members quoting other members. no end quotes

Seems like I am the only one with this problem?

I have to click quote twice? I never had to do that before.

Problem seems to be the Opera Browser I'm using on my android phone, but only on this forum, which does not draw an outline box around the quoted text and highlighted by a background color.

On other forums Opera does both so not a problem. Opera didn't used to do this so either something changed with the forum or something changed with Opera.

It is easier to view the site than in a browser.

Why are you using apples browser on android? Chrome is the way to go man :D ;)

But I'm a Google purist so ignore me haha.

Tapatalk is much easier to view the forums on the phone and also allows you to be notified of subscribed threads and PMs. Its all I use basically.  \/

Is Tapatalk actually that much better? I use Safari on my iPhone4 and it works but it probably could be better

He said he is using Opera. Opera is not Apple's browser, Safari is.

I stand corrected! I thought opera had started as a Mac only thing. But I was incorrect entirely. Haha.

BYM: Yes! I mean I get a dollar for every new person who signs up (jk).

But here decide for yourself:

Better 1? Or two?

1 or 2

Does Tapatalk on Android look the same and do everything as IPhone? It's not free though. I think it's $2.99

Well those pictures were all off of android... I can't vouch for what iPhone looks like. But I think its worth 3 bucks considering how often I browse forums even if I only post once in awhile I check forums all the time. . . Sooo much knowledge on here without having to ask ;)

Plus notifications and latest threads feeds are nice to have.

Well I bought tapatalk. One thing I don't like is I can't pinch zoom. I chose the blue theme when purchased. How do I change it? I hate blue text on a black background. There is no option to change theme in settings. All I want is black fonts on a white background.

I just downloaded the standard tapatalk. But when you go to the accounts screen and hit menu and then Settings the top should be look and feel. Selecting dark mode or unchecking it will change it from light text on a dark background to dark text on a light background and vice versa. There is also a themes tab that should allow you to change to a regular theme.

And what do you need pinch zoom for? If you need bigger font set it bigger in that same settings window. If you want to zoom on a picture. Click the picture and then you can pinch zoom in full screen. Press back to exit.

Checking dark mode = white font on black background

Unchecking dark mode = blue font on black background

I can't get a white background and I hate black backgrounds.

Try Clicking display style above that and then the theme tab and set to tapatalk default?

Display style? I don't have that under accounts/settings nor anywhere else that I've looked.

Tapatalk is really slow sometimes. Keeps on "loading".
Finally gave up and posted this from the web.

Hmm not sure what version you got.
Mine has it directly above the rest of the text display and dark/light etc. What kind of phone do you have?

I certainly like tapatalk sorry if it isn't working out for you...

I can't find what version of Tapatalk I have. Version is usually listed under help but I can't find help in any of the menu screens of Tapatalk!

It's an older phone Motorola Atrix 4G.

Hmm does this say installed ?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quoord.tapatalkpro.activity

Maybe try shooting the developer an email or comment asking for an exchange or a fix for their product.

Is this for real? Do I have to pay $3 to install an app to contact the developer to report a bug?

Im sure you could contact the developer independently from that but I thought you already bought tapatalk? I was just checking to make sure we had the same version. Where did you get tapatalk from if not from Google play?

I bought it from Google Play.  According to my signature the version is Tapatalk 2. When I clicked on your link it launches Google Play and wants $2.99 for community reader. Was it supposed to be installed along with tapatalk?

Weird. They changed the name. It used to just be tapatalk but now its community reader by tapatalk. Anyway. You bought a themed version of tapatalk. There is the original (my link) which has standard color choices of light and dark and blue orange and green. And then there are the custom color versions that are themed a particular way. You bought the blue and black themed one as opposed to standard tapatalk.
I would email the developer or comment on the blue themed one and complain that there is no true light mode and you want to switch for the standard app. But its up to them technically since you have like a 30 minute return window on apps usually.

If they wont do anything and If you can't live with the colors... Buy the original or the newer tapatalk 4 .. sorry mate :(
