Post by: the4ork on July 12, 2013, 08:37:48 am
From a 98 jetta

The cut one, and the one on the right with no tape

And on a side note, what is this solenoid valve, it was near the firewall somewhere, no idea what it does (mk2 tdi swap)

wow, horrible pictures. LOL the cut end looks to be on the engine side of the main engine harness.. no clue wth it goes to though. There are like 36 2-prong connectors on this platform.. haha Cannot verify by eye which is which. Gotta be a wiring diagram somewhere, google?

That solenoid I do believe was a computer controlled wast-gate open/closer. The mk3 TDI had the ability to send boost or vacuum to the waste gate to pop it via boost, or keep it sucked closed.

yeah there are 3 solenoid valves like that... one at the firewall, and two on the passenger side fender well... I know one of them goes to the egr, and I think its one of the passenger side ones (cant remember witch, I checked the pins and labled it) but the one in question, the wires do not run to the ecu at all...

also im seeing in some pictures that there is a sensor in the upper radiator hose? im wondering if one of my mysterious 2-pin plugs goes to that, and the other goes to the a/c, just cant figure out whats what.

gonna do some more multimeter testing tonight and see what pins they go to either at the box or ecu plug

This one is for the AC.

I couldn't find any other wires that matched those colors.

The valve is the n75 valve. It sits right behind the coolant reservoir.

Are you just trying rewire your tdi in a mk3, or are you putting a tdi into a non-tdi rig?

 ??? ???

Will take more pics, if you need them

It's going into a mkii gti

It's definately NOT the n75... The n75 wires run to the 68pin connector @ ecu, the solenoid in question has wires that run through the firewall and into the under dash wiring somewhere.

I've checked which wired are the n18 and n75 and have then labeled already.
