Hey guys, Just bought a mk2 1.6 n/a and it needs a little love. But pretty sure pump timing is off, but before im able to adjust it I need the REAR injection pump bolt and nut. For some reason it doesn't have one. I Know that if I loosen the front three the tension on the T-Belt will loosen.
So does any one have a spare rear injection pump bolt and nut. please let me know ASAP.
Thank you
Tim

The one underneath?
There is a bolt from the right and on the underside to the left there should be a cone shaped nut that is special.
I would definately get that on the car, but you can adjust pump timing still if you just crack the other enough to be able to smack the pump body with a mallet slightly.
Sadly I don't have one to give you, they are all mated up to blocks on the shelf :(
-
Yea the one on the underside of the right side of the pump. The one with the special nut.

If you can't get one thru dealer or I can't get one at vw shop I will sell mine
I'm out of town right now so I can't even confirm that I have one
-
Ive used a linger bolt with a washer and nut to get me by for a while.
-
I was thinking about something like that... We'll see I'll be giving the dealer ship a call tomorrow
-
Take an old bolt and cut the head off so it fits into your drill.
Put a nut on it, then another so the last one is flush with the end of the bolt.
Now run the drill Double-nutted bolt) up against a grinder wheel and round-er off!
I went to buy one from a fore mentioned site and they want 16 bucks for the silly thing!.
-
I will try that. Seems simple and straight forward. Buy your going to want a longer nut right? A standard nut seems short to use.
-
Finding a longer nut could be difficult - may as well spend 16 bucks at Jim Ellis.
Just a standard one will work. I don't think it needs to be as fully radiused (is that a word) as the stock nut. I think the concept is to get it to lock-in/center when you tighten it. For the price, it's worth a shot. ;D
-
Yeah, so I got a hold of the dealer and the said it would be 36.00. That's horrible, I can't believe they can charge people such outrageous prices.

I have one and can probably mail it to you for under $5
-
erg that's what I was afraid and why im reluctant to relinquish mine. Its in the portable tool bad for and on the side of the road kind of thing. Hopefully T-money can help you out.
-
Maybe grind down a metric coupler... prolly easier to use than OEM too. ;)

i may have a spare if u didn't get one yet i'd have to check if ur interested
-
I used a ny-lok nut backwards with the nylon removed with a torch - works dandy till my other one shows up (I know it's around here somewhere). ;D

Bolt can be anything that's long enuf, OEM is cad plated IIRC...the nut p/n is 068130197.
Jim Ellis shows $6.10 and 1stvwparts.com out here in Washington State shows $3.72 for the nut.

They have to charge extra for the rough grit carbide power they add to the lubricant.
