Title: wtb Looking for an Audi 5cyl 5 cyl Turbo Diesel Head 2.0L

Looking for a good usable head for a 1982 Audi/VW 5000 5 cylinder turbo diesel. Discovered mine has cracks when I pulled it to replace the Head Gasket. Thanks, VW

Where are the cracks, and how big?  Small ones between the valves are normal.  Almost any used head you find will also have cracks between the valves.

You can also use a head from an '80-'81 naturally aspirated 5-cyl diesel, just need to drill out the bolt holes and the washer recesses by 1mm.  There are more of these NA heads around than the TDs.

Yes, there are cracks between the valves and one from the injector port to the valve. I was going to have the head welded up if I can't seem to find a replacement. Thanks

I can sell you a complete engine with a good head for $500.
