Title: Rabbit/Caddy Cofle speedometer cable is officially..
Post by: wolf_walker on March 14, 2013, 11:19:05 am
a piece of crap.  I don't think it used to be, but it is now.
Just got my 2nd one from a different supplier, same pot metal, same
metal drive, same metal sheathing inside, same noise lubed or not.

I do not believe Gemo makes the screw on one any longer.
I'd debating trying Napa's house brand one or finding a speedo
shop and having one made.  This is dumb.

sigh.

I was thinking about trying Napa, haven't bought anything from them in years but I guess it's worth a shot.

i the last few years, ive been VERY pleased with the quality of parts napa has been selling..

most questionable part ive bought, was my blower fan for my GTI (non-a/c) and even it has been living on without issue!

i really favor napa's ALTROM parts, and buy them whenever possible.. ALTROM is just a supplier, not a manufacturer..

ive gotten genuine KYB, genuine bosch, and when i get parts with a name i dont know, they are still very nice parts, but for much cheaper usually..

thru napa, my KYB struts were $80+ each.. that wasnt thru the altrom line tho.. thru altrom, it was only a little more than $80 for both fronts, and a little over $40 for the rears..
