Title: WTB: camshaft 1.6 N/A solid lifter
Post by: NWVintage on January 24, 2013, 10:07:27 am
I need a cam for a 1.6 N/A solid lifter diesel. I got the car a month or so ago and finally started going though it the other day. It looks like some idiot tried to start it with a cam lock installed. It is broken clean through between #3 and #4.

Does anyone have one they'd like to part with?

Or have a preferred supplier for such a thing? I looked around last night and the only thing I came up with was Parts Place. Nothing against them, I just want to know all of my options.

I'm in Seattle.

I might have one - just have to check my supplies.

Sorry to say, the one I have has some grooves on one of the bearing journals. It not really worth using.

I have one, but its from a 1.6 TD solid lifter, any difference between turbo and na cams?

I have a solid lifter 1.6 NA cam available.  Will be near it tomorrow evening as I am on the road this week.  I can send you pics and we can PM if you care to do it that way.  Sorry for the bad luck but this is a fixable thing.  Am down the coast from you and was in Portland last couple of days.  Also within throwing distance.

Let me know.  DAS

I have a new front seal or two as well as the cam pulley, you need them?

I think I have this one covered.  If UPS will open the dang door and let me in!  Sending Pulley and shaft and he says he has a new seal.

forum is great for this purpose alone.
