He has some cool stuff on there. oldskoolvw.com the "doppleganger" truck is very cool, And not over done. I love that it still has the square headlight set up!

Ben from Ben"s Veedub Shop has a caddy with a bench seat. Google image is your friend. \

yep... ben's is nice.. saw in person when i got my kubvan from him.. but terri came up with nice way of doing it that tops how ive seen it done..

He still might be active on another MK1 VW site I've been on, the152.com. He also had a build thread on there for the doppelganger that I think talked about the bench. The best way to get him, though is through oldskoolvw.com, definitely.

I was looking at using a Rabbit back seat. It can be made to fit, but I realised that its friggin' uncomfortable for any length of time. I was thinking of putting the e-brake on the driver's side attached to the stock pull mechanism (sans handle) with a rotating shaft. A lot of torque though.
This would also make me want to build a tree shifter, which just seems like a bad idea as far as complexity.

what oldskool did was use a set of bases.. made the seat fold/tip towards the steering wheel to access the handbrake.. his set up was nice.. and not over complex.. vs things like ive seen roddo rear seat fabbed into a bench in one.. those looked almost like a recaro bench.. but unless it folds forward.. or what not pretty usless..

terry is all over his facebook page - old skool vulcanwerks.. tons of great pictures. there was a post about Mk1 Caddy bench seats - there were a few people chiming in with pics of their set up's... it was quite interesting - I remember reading the budget one was mk2 rear 60/40 seat...
His facebook page is very active with tons of other enthusiasts input and information.. you can learn more on his page that you would on vortex....
