Title: theman (yoooderrrrr) for the amish... this is good...
Post by: CRSMP5 on January 03, 2013, 08:59:42 pm
well i tend to dl some stupid crap... but being in ohio/crappsville.. them pesky people all over...

so we start with the breaking amish... score holmes county amish... theman's home county... yea... guy a dick too.. *** even them?? they dicks like rest/most ohioans...

then we get amish mafia... ok.. pa... episode 3 guy from ohio wants to take over pa... ep4 ***.. he holmes county too...

so you'all wanna see theman's county that he lives... tv amish shows... representing... midget ax welding amish... representing poor ol holmes county... :P

so does this mean theman is allowed to pick on the vw diesel group from pa?? south eastern pa?? will him picking on pa cause pa amish to attack ohio?? i think theman and travis should attend a "buggy" race to blow some diesel smoke... show them amish what we really want reprensated..

yoooderrrr = yo der  aka 1 of what 3 last names amish have.... so in theory theman has some type of yooooderrr in his blood :P

so its a poke at him...

now a odd thing if lots miss... lots of diesel vw old/new in south east pa... tons of mk1 so on seems to be that area for some reason...

now living in ohio too much and visitin g/living in other states i learned long ago.. ohio people in general have this "you owe me attitude" which sux...

ohio gives things like amish hair cutting hate crimes....

of the 4 amish and 1 manonite from breaking amish.. dude from holmes county was biggest dick...

move onto new amish mafia show... intriguing in the you know its gotta be real... just not talked bout... come 3rd eposode.. you bring in dude from ohio.. in ep 4 he is too from holmes county... one of holmes county amish leg breakers is a midget who whelds a axe....

dudes in ep 4 drag race horse/buggies for $$

now... theman = mod.... travis = se pa....

is theman tryin to take over se pa?? maybe a soot filled drag race with some buggy racing... get it... its more to razz trav and theman (more so due to holmes county) screwin with them on their amish areas... you all over think it... spell check.. not that far off... bigger issue with n key working when it wants too...

so over all with not giving too much of the show away... the inital post is a check out theman's home area.. see how well them "unknown" lives of amish still make ohio look bad... and to lucas.. him home area sux... :D

N E time you have an ax welding midget it is a good show in my opinion. The life around here is unlike anything you will see elsewhere. I have lived in a few other places in Ohio, but nothing is like this. I am not the foremost authority on Amish, but I did have Amish baby sitters growing up.

.... Bad part of the deal, I borrowed a ton of money from Lancaster Levi on the 20th of December...Well the world didn't end on the 21st. Now what do I do. I am in hiding LOL

these shows are completely legit.  there used to be alot of street racing out on the east end of york then lancaster levi and his cronies started showing up with the dragster buggy and beating everyone so the crowd slowly thinned out, the cops don't show up when lancaster levi is around.  they even had a horse drawn buggy that could really move, it beat most of the hondas and non turbo vws. word was that the horse was on steroids and cocaine but those guys are pretty hush hush usually speak in pa dutch to each other and u definitely don't want to say anything about it around them.

I'd never buy that amish furniture, it's no different from the crap you buy in store.

I had a roommate in college named yoder, he tended to party a lot. Wasn't amish, but came from the shipshewana amish country.

I sell to a ton of amish furniture builders. The stuff they make could or could not be better than what you can buy in a dept store. Most on average is better built. Kraftmaid isn't amish built, it is mass produced in assembly line fashion. Most of the shops that deal in fine furniture it is just that fine furniture. You can get an el cheapo amish made unit and it is better than value city but that isn't saying much. Some of the table and bed mfg's that I deal with are unreal in quality and workmanship.

Lancaster Levi didn't put me up to it either.

I'm thinking blinkey cause of the lights they have to put on the buggies,  I think they changed the laws for them in pa they're lit up alot more, at least all the ones I've seen more recently.  I think some Amish furniture is outstanding quality but its mostly a gimmick since their stuff costs 10 times what a decent furniture store would charge.  One of my colleagues had an Amish neighbor I bought some potatoes from him, they were awesome.

When I hear Yoder this is what mind brings up.  Sorry PNW focus is all about getting the trees to the truck.  These little babies make landings unnecessary but do foul the road for traffic flow.  But they can move over as they are not static setups.  Quite the tech marvel for small diameter trees and thinnings.

ud be surprised how much the amish bend their own rules, it depends on each sect or how ever they're divided up, but many have cell phones, or own trucks but keep them in some one elses name who also drives for them.  there are also alot of appliances they will use so long as they are gas powered.  its ok for them to use electricity if they live in a house that is rented. Menonites are basically the same as amish but a different division most menonite are not as strict as the amish and own cars which almost always are black.  some menonites are just as the amish strict tho

Had an amish crew put new on steel siding and repair the roof on our pole barn. They used electric tools, even had a mini fridge plugged in inside the barn for their lunch.

They borrowed my Ridgid cordless drill without asking, and got aluminum roof paint all over it :( They did a great job though

Ah ok.  Show is a real laugh job for anyone who lives near the Amish, or anyone who isn't an idiot for that matter, it's so fake.  Honestly I don't quite understand the rest of the countries fascination with a very boring culture don't get me wrong I have alot of respect for them and I love this area.  But the Amish mostly stick to themselves unless you're going to give them money or work for them(theman53s motivation thread).  Not only are the Amish this way but the whole central pa area is.  I travel all over the country for work and I must say, home is the most unfriendly place.  The first thing I notice when I get out of town is how much more friendly people are.  It's not so much that people here are rude everyone just keeps to themselves.  Usually around here if someone is friendly they are crazy and will never stop talking to you until both ears fall off.  Eh like eye contact with another person in the grocery store is awkward.  Now talking to people u no is just the same as anywhere else but social interaction with strangers is generally rare or awkward. I was born and raised here and my family has been in this region for 100s of years but sometimes stuff is just weird.  We're not jerks tho just a socially retarded part of the country I guess haha.  And what the rest of the country calls pot pie sucks.  Our pot pie rules

The Amish around here are different too. It takes a good long while for them to 'warm up' to you. Unless you are neighbors with them like Eli and I, it takes time. Then they seem pretty normal once you get to know them. They just don't like outsiders much as I think they are worried people like me will corrupt them. Which, they are probably correct LOL. I haven't seen the show, but from what I have heard I get the jist of it. Still any show with a smallmish wielding and ax has got to be good to watch.
Trav, is that what you guys call the midget Amish? We always have around here 'smallmish' or 'smamish'. I hold back laughing everytime I go into this one chair shop that Abe owns. He is right around 3' even. When I come in he climbs onto a stool that he has made to talk with me at eye level. I have no idea why I find it funny, but I do...too much.

I don't watch the show much it's all filmed the next county over where there are much more Amish but I work just across the river from Lancaster and do alot of work over there too.  There is no such thing as an Amish mafia and although it was more believable even breaking Amish was fake and scripted.  The episode where they're searching for that black Amish/Mennonite guy Alan beiler, it turns out Alan beiler actually owns a talent agency for Amish and Mennonite models/actors and some of the breaking Amish people worked for him.  It's all bs like those tow truck shows.  Funny to watch but it's a shame that the discovery Chanel and tlc have dsnk do low to play fake shows smearing the Amish and airing honey boo boo.  What happened to junk yard wars???? That show ruled

And I will be sure to visit the toaster this year no worries!!!

I do stuff sometimes to people like that. Ask them "what for money would you pay for that" If you put a little accent on it, sounds really Amish. Around here they alot of them will use "I don't care to milk for you" meaning if you don't want to milk the cow he would pick up your shift. There are tons of different sounds that come from that mix of language as well. J = CH so Jerry is now CHerry.

This is amusing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennsylvania_Dutch_English

"Don't eat yourself full."

haha most of that is true for where i live, but some of that is more regional with in the pa dutch area too, like more east they have different phrases.   and the way they use "say" is more how me and i assume most people use ain't.  i might say "hey that car looks pretty sweet, ain't?"  they would say "hey that car looks pretty sweet, say?"

there was actually alot more of our local sayings here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Pennsylvania_dialect but it seems some douche bag deleted all of them because they were not cited, how ever they are all spot on and i never realized they were local until i saw them on wikipedia haha.

apparently u can view older versions.  now quit rutching around and go warsh your hands.

Here in the hoosier state the older folks will often say warsh instead of wash, for the most part that didn't trickly down to the younger generations.

Here in the hoosier state the older folks will often say warsh instead of wash, for the most part that didn't trickly down to the younger generations.

lucas that phrase does not sound odd to me, the milking one does tho.

yeah seperate dialects are definitely dying off.  Honestly i don't know of many people who say warsh, i am thinking it was not as common in york but more so in the surrounding areas.  alot of people pronounce water more like wooder here tho.

heres one i do that i think is dying off quick cause it makes u sound like a dumb ass who is 5 seconds behind everyone else:

What? is often used to answer a question initiating conversation, followed by a brief pause and an answer to the question. For example, Man 1: "Did you get your hair cut yesterday?" Man 2: "What? (pause) Yeah, I did."

and this is one my father has always done, which i never knew would sound odd to outsiders.  except around here it would be phrased more like "tom corbet?  he's about half ***ing stupid." or "He's about half a dumb ass"

Use of the word about to mean very. For example "You're about dumb." means "You're very stupid." Sometimes the word half is added for extra emphasis. Therefore, "You're about half dumb." means "You're extremely stupid." The term about is not a true substitution for very but rather it is understood to be an intended understatement on the part of the speaker. The about-half dumb construction has evolved into the otherwise incomprehensible Central Pennsylvania insult "You're about half!".

and one commonly used by my mother, not so much anymore tho:

Use of the word "ignurnt" [ˈɪɡnərnt] to mean "rude", as in "You'ns are about ignurnt!" to mean "You guys are quite rude." Presumably, "ignurnt" was derived from "ignorant", as one who is ignorant of manners may be perceived as rude.

heres a few everyone uses very frequently:

When referring to consumable products, the word all is used to mean all gone. For example, the phrase "the butter's all" would be understood as "the butter is all gone." This likely derives from German, where one might say "Die Butter ist alle" in this case.

"A while" is often used to refer to the present time. Ex. "Do you want money a while?" Translation. "Do you want money now?"

"Then" is used at the end of sentences. For example: "Will that be all for you, then?"

The letter A is taken out of "Orange", which causes it to be pronounced as "ornge." For example: "Are you'uns hungry for an ornge?"

the thing i have never heard anyone say before is you'uns or yinz(other than jim shearer)  the only oddity to the word "you" that anyone here uses is yous, like "why don't all yous go find something better to do" or yall but yall is common slang.

^ Most all that is normal here, especially the 1/2 deal. Wash is more like wursh or wersh than wash. Milk can be melk or malk. The accent is the funny thing.

Torlet aka Toilet

ever heard people use it?

i hear it all the time.. not sure if its more dominant on the west coast, or what..

melk, im way guilty of that..

creek i say as CRICK..

probably is often times said as PROLLY..

its amazing, the different dialects a language can take on, just because of accent, and pronunciation..

Man 1: "What fur?"
Man 2: "That stuff what grow on small woodland creatures."

Just trolling around and this whole conversation made me think that Missourians are people (Amish and Mennonites included) from everywhere else. I've heard all this stuff. My gripe around here is people who can't pronounce the name of the damn state. Half of them call it mizz er uh.

Other than asians who have english as a second language, my favorite english dialect that i have experienced has got to be the louisiana area cajuns.  I was driving through there on my way to houston for work and made a stop for fuel, I figured hell i'm in louisiana i should get some local food.  So i walked up to the guy at the next pump and told him i was from pennsylvania, and asked him to recommened some where that had good local food.  Wow, i really could not understand him at all, its almost like they don't use their tongue to speak, just lips and teeth or something.  it took me a while to start to understand what he was saying, honestly i think he was half putting on a show for me since i said i was from pa, and he told me he used to work in new jersey and noted there wasn't any good food up there. haha i ended up eating boudin some type of rice and pork and beef filled sausage it was really good. i had morcilla before too, kind of an odd puerto rican dish.

I bought my house from an Amish and then helped him raise a new house. He stole my generator gas and food from my garden every time my back was turned. He finally moved to another part of the state and my fuel usage went to about half.

Not all are like him, There are good and bad with all.  I have game cameras all over my property and have had chips taken from them.  If I catch one on my property I will make sure that I take it before an elder in their community. They can ban him from being Amish.

They feel like since you are not Amish you will never meet up with them in the afterlife and therefore are a turd.

I remember about 10 years ago a bunch of us were riding bicycles in a highly amish area in November. We were going up a long grade. A black Econoline went around me, then another black Econoline, finally a smaller black van. The front window was open and a bearded young man hung his head out of the window and yelled "get a horse".

I got back at them in a way. I was riding a very low recumbent bike and came upon  an Amish buggy, not unusual. A couple of months later I was at an Amish house inquiring about some wood work. He mentioned that someone on a low bicycle had frightened a horse and it overturned a buggy. Guess it was Karma.

Most of america is not bad at all....it's just the parts of america that are publicized are....nauseating to the rest of us too.

I think the idiot wanna be rednecks are embracing the stereotypes...therefore becoming what everyone thought they were, and making america look even worse.

Why is it the worst examples of Americans are the most visible to the rest of the world?

Be careful about describing regional differences in people.

I could give you my idea of  the worst of Americans. I am pretty certain that it will quite a bit different than your example and probably a bit more accurate....:)
