I know I need the SMF, but what disc holds up well? I don't want the 6 puck ceramic styles that are harsh on/off button engagement, but I would like it to handle some torque if I ever need it to.
I have a line on a SPEC clutch and wondered if anyone had tried one of them. How do the daily drive? It is the SV 362 in the link below that I can get a deal on.

I have had mine slip for a little bit and I am preparing for the worst. PO replace the DMF with another DMF setup 80,000 miles or so ago and I think it is giving in a bit.

How much whp/wtq are you planning for the future. I'm running a stock mk3 sachs Tdi clutch with no issues. Then again I don't have crAzy power.

This just in from TDI club...I have been searching for days...
"I GOT IT!!!!!
So, after doing a little more digging using the link Yblocker provided and a little work in ETKA... you will all like this.
The AAA VR6 pressure plate in ETKA is part #021 141 025 F.
That cross-references to Sach's part #3082 231 031.
The TDI pressure plate in ETKA is part #074 141 025 B
You'll never guess what that cross-references to.
3082 231 031
YUP. Same damn pressure plate!!!!
SO, the answer is (runonbeer was unwittingly correct!) use the Mk3/B4 TDI clutch kit! The pressure plate is the same and the disk is rattle-free.
So, everyone remember the part number runonbeer referenced: K7003801
The hell with the VR6 kit!
Well, this has been enlightening."

I am just posting some links for myself and others whom maybe in for this job. The one above is VR but should be similar for all O2J / O2A trans.
Also found out it isn't that heavy, so I will be lifting it out like my 020. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4664520-I-Was-Able-to-Weigh-these-020-o2o-02A-o2a-02M-o2m-transmissions-Transmission-Weight

I've had nothing but happy times with Southbend clutches.

Says it will cross reference to a Mk3 TDI as well, which is an 02A. Its all good, I think I will be getting one of these! Stage 2 at 365tq should suffice eh? ;)

Looks like that is what I maybe getting. I can get the SACHS on ebay for 160.00, but I really only want to do this once.

Nice that kit will work with my stock Mk3 TDI flywheel when I eventually go 02A.. except the 02A swap for me is gonna be like a friggan $1500 ordeal...
