Is there some sort of trick to unsticking a rusted strut insert nut?
-
Blue-wrench a.k.a. Gas-axe...
(MAPP, O/A)

I will give the Ol' torch a shot

If you are replacing the strut anyway, get it cherry red hit it with some penetrating and get the wrench on it. Works for me.

My 36" pipe wrench never fails.

On a 1992 cabriolet there are only 4 little indents for a punch to loosen the nut,

That's not going to work, those grooves are actually for a special tool that u use to undo the nut but eff the special tool use a pipe wrench it will *** it up some but life goes on

Solved the problem with a newly aquired air-chisel ;D

Another excuse to buy tools you really need anyway. I love it.

Did I need it, no , will I be able to remove a rusty nut in about 30 seconds...yes

You needed it, time is money. Either way you spend it. Now you can do all sorts of damage to home and car. Great for tile work. Removal anyway.
