Anyone know about using the temp sensor on the motor?
I'm interested in getting an idea of how cold the motor is when I fire it up, and again after sitting in the cold, by using the information the temp sensor provides.
I assume the temp gauge is just a volt meter?

The sensors provide a resistance reading that the gauge then displays as a visual for you. I do not think they will give a reading for that low of a temperature.

What about using one of those cheap infrared thermometers?
-
Lol well yes I do have one of those.. I was kinda thinking about just having a rolling temperature number

I have a couple of digital gauges on my WVO system that run off 12 vdc and give me accurate temps to the tenth of a degree between 32 and 100 degrees F. Then good for single degree to 185. Didn't cost much but the shipping and wait from China was a bit high and bit long. How about a battery operated remote like you would use outside. Just put it someplace far away from the exhaust temps.

Most temp sensor are a logarithmic scale like this

And the gauge oftenhas a circuit o provide a fat dead spot around normal operating temp.
Your Bentley should have a few values or full char for your particular car and sensor.
