Title: Quieting the IP
Post by: Syncroincity on October 19, 2012, 04:45:43 pm
My Giles pump is loud... embarassingly so, particularly in the concrete canyons here where the clack echoes from all directions.
I seem to recall this might be a timing issue? I set the pump to 1.0mm, which way (towards or away from the head) should I bump the pump a bit to reduce injection noise?

IIRC Giles told me to time no higher than .95mm. It is probably different for every pump he builds but it is something to think about.

Yes the pumps are physically loud, there is quite a bit going on inside them ;)

But it is not the pump that you hear clacking away, it is your WAY to advanced timing lol. Fall back to like .90 or .95mm
