Title: WTB: Mk1 exhaust
Post by: monomer on October 08, 2012, 06:09:30 pm
Trying to do this on the cheap. My rabbit's exhaust has been missing for years now, Just got it running. The only piece I have the the toilet bowl section/ down pipe.

I'm tempted to buy a tectonics, but it's just out of my price range.

any local exhaust shop worth a damn should be able to do a FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM for under a couple hundred bucks..

straight pipe is even cheaper..

Yeah, and it'll be uglier then the stock exhaust. Most won't install without a cat in place.

I've found a header and a autotech exhaust locally used for cheaper then $200.

I'm set, thanks everyone!

Uglier than stock?  Apparently you've never seen what someone who enjoys building exhausts with the proper tools.  I use a local shop who does beauty work with SS.

I'm a machinist at a factory that makes SS exhaust pieces.

Shame it's just muffle baffle and manifold oem parts.

A custom SS exhaust if far out of budget.

Can you take advantage of your knowledge and your job? Like raid the scrap bin and make something?
