Title: FS: 1.9aaz complete bottom end
Post by: Smokey Eddy on August 25, 2012, 12:04:29 pm
I have a complete short block AAZ from my Jetta im parting out. The car has to go to scrap (or be sold as a parts car?) in about a week but if someone wants this thing they can sure as heck take it. The bores are good. The rings are still excellent but the main bearings wore rapidly last year for some reason... still had great oil pressure when i took the engine apart last week so I'm not sure what was going on there.
Comes with pump, oil pan baffle, IM shaft, Crank, Rods & pistons, badly dented oil pan, what ever else you may want... external oil cooler plate I bought a while back.
I modified the main caps so you can change the bearings in car.
All other bearings were replaced about 2 years ago.

Would be better if the buyer were local as I don't have too much of a way of moving it around.

I'm in desperate need of a connecting rod in good shape for my AAZ.  Think I could buy one off of you?  Paolo Marks.

less than 10km... what ever that is in american. and yes im calling it american because the states really needs to go metric :P it just makes sense!
I can go over the border no prob if you want to meet me or something. Not too sure how i would get the block in my golf though... maybe if i put it in a rubbermaid tote or something.
Facebook me Kevin - it will get to me much faster.

If it weighs over 75lbs you'll have a hard time shipping it. I think FedEx will do it, but the guy who picks it up won't be happy.

If you pull the rotating assembly and send that separately you should be ok.

It will fit in a rubber tote.

Fedex in the USA will take up to 150lbs from my dad's shop. One once over and they will not budge it. The AAZ I shipped had to have the crank out as it was like 2 pounds over. Block and rods weighed a little over 100lbs.

And how do we know this Tyler ;)
Perhaps this block has traveled in a tote before! :D The bores are still really really good by the way. I don't remember what I ended up giving you for the short block but i think it was more than $75. Haha. Well, if no one can come get it or pay for shipping or what ever it's gonna get melted down probably in china and turn into some really crappy and dangerous cast iron shop equipment and then go in a container and come back to north america.
