Title: AAZ/1.6 IDI block head studs same as ALH?
Post by: Smokey Eddy on August 25, 2012, 11:43:59 am
I have my ARP head studs from my AAZ that i'm parting out because I aquired a 2000 ALH.
Will the head studs cross over?

I need to delete the EGR and clean out the head and intake so I may as well.

No need to remove the head while doing that clean up Ed, it can be done on car easily.

They make studs now for the TDI's but before then the same ones for the 1.6 worked in them. For reference check for the stock head bolts for the 1.6 and the 1.9. It should be 068103384A for both, so you know they work in both.

That's hilarious because my parents paid the dealership to do it three times in the last 12 years and it cost in excess of $1,000 each time.
Just based of that three digit figure i was guessing it was hard to do or at the very least harder than if it was an IDI...
