Title: MK1 people: Need some pics (important)
Post by: monomer on August 17, 2012, 03:02:48 pm
I need some pics of what he shift linkage should look like in the gears.

Installed a USRT kit, lost 1st and 2nd. I have a feeling it's with the splined tilt arm on the car. Problem is, I don't know what position it's supposed to be in. The bently is useless.

turn the relay arm a few splines CW (towards the drivers side) on the shaft, then try it again..

or adjust the length of the USRT linkage..

Relay ball doesn't fit the end of the usrt short shift arm nicely.

Part of the problem, atleast.

Still a bit sloppy, but it works!

Quick question, why pay big money for a USRT if you will be content with "still a bit sloppy"??

Most of the sloppyness is from elsewere not covered by the URST kit.

The shifter base is hit, and the rivited in piece under the car has seen better days. It's much, much better then the stock setup was. I can actually find gears now.
