Can you elaborate? Do you not know how to set the timing? Are you running into problems?

i timed the timing belt and it all rotates smooth. now im timing the pump to the 1mm. was justing looking for a second set of hands to make sure i did it right... first vw and diesel

as long as you know the timing belt is on correctly ie all the marks line up with cyl 1 at top dead center loosen the ip bolts but keep them snug enough to where you can still moved it with some elbow and fire the car up and rotate toward engine until it clacks like hell then back it off just to the point before clackage begins.
