Hey guys. You may remember this from a couple of years ago. Unfortunately there were a number of hurdles that kept it from working out. In this time I've been able to find solutions to those issues and I'm back at it. Better late than never?
After hunting down some pristine a-pillar trim I made molds to be able to reproduce the trim as needed. Working from the last mk1 pod I'm now at a place where I need to check the fit and the end is in sight.
Unlike the last stab at this I'm not making a one part fits all because it may be impossible. For that reason it won't fit cars not already equipt with a-pillar trim without modification.
Just wanted to let you all know. I'll be posting photos later.

thank god they dont have 3 different kinds of trim for the mk1s..
the mk2 has german trim, mexican, and american.. funny thing is, all of it is DIFFERENT.
-
lol.... only 83/84 rabbit, westy at that have trim... rest are vinyl wraped and glued into place... differance of glue in vs rubber glass...
-

I may be. What models/trims is it supposed to fit? I've an '81 truck with very little interior except for the dash and seats, no trim whatsoever.

from what i know about this pod it was designed for a late model mk1 that has a glue in windshield, the rope in windshields don't allow enough room for the gauge pod to rest correctly on the a pillar.
-
Are you making these? Or just have this one to sell?
If you are making them and they will fit an 84 Jetta, ill be down for two of them for sure.
-
they fit 83 and 84 Rabbits ONLY..
you can cut up the pod and KINDA make it work for them as well, but jake made 2 versions of these pods..
early mk1/jetta/caddy version for the rubber seal window..
and a late mk1 version for the glue in window..

83/84 rabbit or glue in.... jetta stock... rope in... like i said 3x now... only made for 83/84 westy bunny... the piller on cabby has odd shape to it... so no idea if it fits or when glue started on them... 88-89 i think...

yea, for use in a mk1 with a mk2 dash..

yes, this thing will fit 83/84 rabbits with glue in windshield, this part is air cast or something, its one piece and hasnt been glued together or anything. I dont own a late model rabbit i bought it a few years ago because it was marketed as fitting all bunnies, which it does not. If any one wants it feel free to contact me, $80 plus shipping.

I still have the pod, $60 shipped now
-
They sell brand new ones for $44 on gauge pods.com or something. They have em for MK2 as well.
