Title: Turbo ---Oil supply issue
Post by: mtnbob on August 03, 2012, 04:14:18 pm
I have my turbo all hooked up, but there seems to be no place for the oil feed. Bentley shows it coming from the oil filter mount, but mine is from an N/A and that fitting is missing. Do I need a turbo specific oil filter mount that includes a fitting for the oil feed, or can I drill out mine and put threads in it?

Thanks

if your adding a turbo to naturally aspirated motor you need a new oil filter housing and/with an oil cooler. and 2 different/extra coolant lines and a different coolant pipe the hard one running from thermostat housing and terminating right before the heater core.

I'm putting a turbo on a turbo block, but I'm trying to use the oil filter bracket from my N/A. It is all I have to work with. I had already put a fitting on where the sensor attached, and used that to hook up my oil pressure gauge and the sensor.

I tapped mine to NPT and used an NPT to 5/16" flare.

What lib said(though ive never tried it). You may also be able to run it it off the sensor if you remove it and run an oil press. gauge @ the head which i would recommend anyway.
