Post by: R.O.R-2.0 on June 14, 2012, 02:46:02 pm
Wreck happened VERY near my house this morning.. HWY is still closed, it happened @ 9am..

a LOADED freightliner Semi (full of wood pulp) VS. a Toyota Camry w/ a single occupant.

this WAS a late 90s/early 00s Toyota Camry XLE V6.. mind you, it WAS..

ripped the tire clear off the drivers front wheel...

passenger side air bag is CLEARLY OBVIOUS thru the firewall..

please everyone, pay more attention when you are driving!!

(they still havnt found the body of the guy driving the Camry)

Really? This was caused by an idiot.. Who distracts them selves intentionally when there is any other vehicles around them? Idiots. Sorry, but if it was the cars fault.. I have zero sympathy for the driver. Only for the sadness the loss of life will cause and the trauma of the truck driver.

Ouch. Why do people have to drive like that?!

My accident was because someone crossed at least the center turn lane into oncoming traffic, if she didn't cross another (it was a 4 lane road, with a turn lane in the center). If I didn't swerve, it would have been a head-on. Luckily it was more of a side-swipe but still crushed in my entire drivers side and deployed both airbags. Girl was 22, had her car full of passengers, and this was AT LEAST the 3rd accident like this she's been in in 4 years (crossing the center line). Freaking idiots.

I just realized as I type this that I have been driving 40 years ( ya- old fart). I am astonished daily at how many times I see someone either crossing the center line or looking like they are about to do it.  It wasn't that way 40- 30 - even 20 years ago.  I just don't understand the mentality , the casualness of driving these days.  The consequences of making this sort of mistake...very sad.

lack of seatbelts/airbags 20-40 years ago... now people think they will live due to the cars being made for dumb people...

4 laines with 5th center turn lane = deadly... if in turn lane, with oncomming turn lane full of cars... you cannot see around them to turn left.. i think it is one of the dumbest traffic designs ever.. make it 6 lanes wide.. offset the turn lanes so they do not block the view.. only seen that a few times... but well worth the extra cost

Right under the stripper is the fila shoe, then the leg. I have seen it in person and it is very cool. The pics are on his website, and I think he has a build thread in the TDI section.

pic does not show the cf painted on effect shoe has... :P but yep a win it is... the original owner did not relize how i wanted to do it when he donated it.. thought i was going to foot down and use the socket as the holder.. this way allowed 2 cups... only if the insurance company knew what he did with one of his old legs... :P he gets a new set every couple years... i bet they paid 10k+ for it...

i think its fairly safe to say that you have the MOST EXPENSIVE cup holder on the forum. maybe in the world..

They are VERY expensive!!!  My temporary cost 8k six years ago. The one I have now was over 10k.
Just the foot/ankle alone is 6k, and I've already had to warranty it once. Mine is mostly all titanium and carbon fiber.
If you look at the parts there should be serial numbers on each part that can be traced back to the person it was made for.

Here's a pic of my first one. (only used as backup now)  My Doc will cover with whatever fabric I bring him, as long as its not too offensive.
