agreed. looks like you spent a lot of time on it. good luck with the sale! (and let me know if you'll sell me the safari windows! :D )
-
yeah shame on me :)
too many project, recent separation... new girlfriend, lack of money... i want to put all my effort on my 73 westy instead.. i could sell split bus tour to finance my paint job :)
Safari was installed with metalwizard bracket INside the body.. many Metawizard part i bought... rear corner was NOS (i bought an aftermarket one, veng, but was so cheap i throw it away) .. in fact i had 2 NOS rear corner... i sent the driver side one to metalwizard so he can do a copy...
i may consider keeping it too .. move my westy stuff in the split ... that could be cool to to go campin in tha split instead of tha westy!!!

that's what i'm doing... but with a '66.
let me know if you'll seperate the safaris! (might help fund your project.... ;))

Wow, that is alot of work to let go at any price! I understand the pains tho... I've been working on my '60 bug for 8 years, on and off. When I go through extended periods of not working on it I begin thinking, "just sell it". Then a friend passes through my garage and says, "maaan', you should spend all your time working on your bug and forget all of the other projects for a while. It can be a love hate thing.
Either way, that's some nice work that you have done!

yeah i agree, a lot of work to sell off. what is the hold up? are you concerned about making everything 'just right'? as the days fly by and i still don't even have keys to my shop i'm scaling back my plans for my '66... but ultimately i will be camping in it this summer.... just might not be a show-winner

I can agree with that... my 71 has been a work in progress for 8yrs... haven't done much on it in the last few. Just haven't been close to home or have had enough time. I can't wait til I have my own house and property...then progress... have a 65 bug waiting to be restored too :)
Luckily my aircooled needs are being fulfilled by my 72 Westy. I can't wait to get it out and go camping again here this year. Its not perfect, needs a paint job but is solid and runs like a champ (2.0 w/ Dual Dells) :)
I pointed your bus out to my "seriously split " friend...he may be contacting you. The question would be how hard would it be to get it to NYS :)

hey joe. i hope to make it to the allegany mountains for the may 20/21 weekend in my split. would be nice to meet up with another VW camper down there if you're up for it. might be a little cold! of course the more the merrier lavabo!
i camped at the state park there every year when i was younger since before i could walk. haven't been back in probably 10 years now so that's the first stop for camping this summer.
