Hi guys,
I am going to change the injectors of my 1.9 td golf ('96,AAZ - engine), as it has 320.000 km's.I saw the GTD nozzles at 20 $ each, but there are also injectors of 80 $ each. Why is that ( do I get original VW for 20 $?),and if they're not:are they as reliable as the original ones ?
Thanks in advance!!

The nozzle is only one part of the injector.

Hi dieselweasel, I see you also have 300 k on yours!!did you change your injectors, and if yes, did you notice a real difference in power / mpg?

I've seen injectors all over the board. Some have had attention and are nice and clean inside. One in particular that I can recall had the spring broken in 3 peices and I had to beat the nozzle out of the holder with a hammer. I'm guessing the spring broke because it was too caked with crap and twisted when I took the injector apart. The nozzle was pretty much sealed in there with carbon. I took mine apart after about 12k km and everything was still nice. The nozzles still seemed fine as well. 60k miles seems like a good interval to at least check the pop pressure and to ensure that the injector spray pattern doesn't degrade too much.

You are talking 60k miles, that's about 100k km's, mine has 3 times as much, think that's a clear hint to change them!!
I hope I find a reasonable rebuilder here in Spain, last time I asked for a timing belt kit they asked 110 $ for it,(original VW, but even then!rimmed belt 38 euros!!) when I look at American websites I get absolutely jalous about the availability and prices for parts you guys get.
