I ordered three b8.5d green dash lights.
its weird they look different, but look like they would work
-
Are they of comparable size and amperage? do they plug into the same sockets as the original bulbs?
-
I guess I should comment on this.
the bulbs I ordered were WRONG.
the good news is, I took the soldering iron out, pulled the LED units with resisters off the other bulb housings and tabs and put them in mine. they arent super bright, but the work good and should last forever
-
Sounds cool. Can we get some pics?
-
didnt get any :( and sure not pulling the dash back apart (actually I cant, wife did it all cuz of the speedo cable)

digifant speedo cables are the DEVIL..
i prefer the early mk2, 2 piece speedo cables. much easier to work on.
the cluster is 10x harder to pull on my 92 jetta, than it is on my 86 GTI.

If I had a stereo in the car it woulda been really bad, but the stereo was out so wife could reach through there to the back of the speedo

i have to reach in from under the dash (down by the pedals) on my car. my fat arm would never make it back behind the cluster from the stereo side..

wow, I didnt SEE a gap looking up through there!, I was considering pulling the cable OUT OF THE TRANS and pushing it up through the firewall to get it out far enough to un clip it
