Title: Vacuum Pump
Post by: TonyTDTruck on March 22, 2012, 05:12:45 pm
Where is the best place to buy a vacuum pump for my 1.9TD AAZ?
Can the drive shaft be replaced or do I need a new pump?
The damage is where the drive shaft of the vacuum pump plugs into the oil pump drive shaft.
Some how it got worn out.
p/n 028207A
Thanks

idk much about AAZ motors or parts, since they are a canada only thing.. i know alot about IDI engines in general, but thats about it.

im one of the WORST people to be asking about NEW PARTS, because i try to re-use or rebuild everything.. im one of the cheapest bastids on the forum.. what some would call FRUGAL, but i just call it CHEAP.

Holy smoke! $259 for a vac pump. For that price you can place a motor in the wind driven by a propeller while the car in in motion.
My troubles are getting worse. Where can I find a good used cylinder head? I have a shop looking at mine and they told me yesterday it's toast as well.
Looking on web sites, I see prices ranging from $750 to $1000 US. :(

Good to know about the bow tie slot. From the  feed back I'm getting it sounds like this is a common  or normal wear for this pump.
I found a new head assembly at boraparts.com for $650. This is a complete assembly. For the price it looks like a great deal.
Thanks
