Title: Belt tightening question on 81 jetta
Post by: Krisverde on March 19, 2012, 10:23:49 am
I searched but I didn't. Find anything for sure but maybe I suck at searching. Also yes I know I need a bentley manual but I seem to have issues finding a diesel one. Anyways. To tighten the ac belt do I need to remove alternator to get to the bolts that tension the ac compressor?   I don't see any other accessible parts haha. Thanks in advance.

Haven't found any way to tighten that belt without taking off the alt. Its a pain to tighten even with the alternator out of the way. I love having AC but that belt sucks...

Ah ok cool thanks for confirming what I had to do. The ac clutch engages but I may just ditch the setup anyways. I don't really care about it. Plus cruising on the highway would be much slower hahah.
