Title: which is better...K24 or Garret?
Post by: mpg on February 08, 2006, 08:44:54 pm
Kind of a bland question, I know, but I just picked up 2 1.6td longblocks, each with a different turbo. Will one of these turbo's have any advantages over the other? They seem to be really close to the same size. I'm planning on doing the pump mods to accomodate up to 20psi of boost, and am wondering if I should pick one turbo over the other...
While on the topic, I also have a k26 from a 944, and an audi 5cyl manifold/wastegate to fit. Would I be correct in assuming this turbo will have too much lag to be worth hooking up to a 1.6td? thanks

Twin 'em. Then you get the best of both worlds. 935racer's working on a Twin Turbo IDI I think.

And on the 944 turbo, it might not be so bad if you've got good exhaust flow, but then I'm no expert on that turbo (or any for that matter)
