REPLACE THOSE HUB CAPS!!!

re-using wheel bearing caps is a bad idea, especially when they are as messed up as yours.

taking them off with a screw driver is a BAD IDEA. moisture will get in the bearing from where it is not sealed, and toast the bearing in short order..

(your car is still beautiful, and i was still excited to see that you posted more pics!!!)

WTF?! you got shafted... you should have won.

your car is my favorite one on the entire forum.. i love it that you keep it very factory looking. your car is soo nice, very sharp.

but definitely not a 2nd place car!

in my mind (and probably everyone else on the board) your car is the first place winner, strictly because its a REAL GTD, and VERY WELL preserved at that!

that GTI that won is still a VERY clean car tho. would love to see a few more shots of it as well, if you have any..

time for a update. i have been having trouble selecting gears lately so it was time for some work.

(http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac15/stugtd/DSCF8506_zpsb23f707f.jpg) (http://s881.photobucket.com/user/stugtd/media/DSCF8506_zpsb23f707f.jpg.html)

so the first job was to take the intercooler and pipework off for access.
then soak the new bushes in hot water for ease of fitting.

(http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac15/stugtd/DSCF8510_zps965cbf50.jpg) (http://s881.photobucket.com/user/stugtd/media/DSCF8510_zps965cbf50.jpg.html)

(http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac15/stugtd/DSCF8511_zps5d803ae1.jpg) (http://s881.photobucket.com/user/stugtd/media/DSCF8511_zps5d803ae1.jpg.html)

not too bad a job now the gears are so much better. well worth doing as the kit is only £6
