Title: Differences between early 80's and late 80's 135bar N/A Injectors
Post by: VW on November 14, 2011, 09:12:12 pm
Are there differences between early 80's and late 80's N/A Injectors? When I search for a set of reman's for an 86 Golf, there is a huge difference in price. Could I use a set meant for like an 81-84 N/A in an 86 N/A motor? If there are any good links anyone knows of to read up on any differences I would certainly appreciate it. Also would running a set of 155bars in an N/A motor be a bad idea?

Thanks in advance

No significant difference.  The nozzles are slightly different but lots of folks here have used either style in either motor.

Generally it doesn't seem like there is any advantage to the 155 bar injectors in an N/A application.  It won't hurt anything, you will have to adjust your timing to match the injectors, but you are unlikely to see any significant difference in performance or mileage.

The only thing i was cautioned on them previously was use them in sets if you choose, don't mix them.
