Hey, has anyone tried the Spectra brand fuel tanks? At a local parts place its all they offer, was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. Alternately does anyone know of a good place to get one in southern ontario.
Thanks, Aaron

On page 2 of this build about halfway down, there's reference to Sprectra fuel tanks. They appear to be pretty good. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5186163-JGWarner-s-Turbo-Diesel-Fox (http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5186163-JGWarner-s-Turbo-Diesel-Fox)

Can anyone tell me of any noticeable difference between a mk1 rabbit gas and diesel tank other than the obvious one holds different fuel ;D I picked one up today used off a guy and it looks oddly familiar to the gas tank I pulled a while back I just want to make sure i am not being had.
Thanks, Aaron

same tank..

ok thanks, I wasn't sure. I thought I remember reading somewhere that there were more lines coming from the diesel tank. I just wanted to verify.
Thanks, Aaron

A carbeurated rabbit will have a different tank to a Fuel Injected and the Diesel. As the carb will not require a vent, and return line.

that's probably what i was reading then i can't find it right now but my tanks are from fuel injected so looks like I'm good, Thanks for help.

yes, thanks for pointing that out. i totally forgot about the carb'd cars..
the Fuel Injection tanks (both gas and diesel) are both the same tho..
carburated rabbit is kinda a rare bird, by todays standards..

Only on this side of the pond. Many were built/sold in Europe into the 80's IIRC.
