Post by: wdkingery on September 17, 2011, 06:03:12 pm
My car has quite a tick that comes and goes. I changed the oil, checjed/adjusted the valves.. Still it ticks.
Then it goes away.
Is one of my injectors makin a bunch of racket?

Could be, but an injector usually makes a pretty loud clack and an increase in smoke too.

Hard to find an intermitant sound.
You can open injectors when you hear it and see what cylinder it is.
I think and injector can tick like a lifter,.. could probably do it if the breaking pressure was lower than the others by enough,.. same sound as having the timing too advanced.
