Title: Garrett Turbo Reassembly
Post by: myke_w on February 01, 2006, 11:00:07 am
I am wondering how to get a garret turbo back together. I never ripped the cartridge down, but did take the halves off. Now I'm having trouble getting the cast iron side back together straight. It seems like when I heat the cast housing portion, the cartridge always ends up ever so slghtly cocked to one side.  Am I heating it incorrectly? what do you guys use? I would like to see equal clearence to teh housing on all sides of the impeller, but one side is noticeably closer to the housing. I am also wondering how anybody every got the bolt under the oil outlet in..., there is absolutely no way it will clear once the turbo is clocked.
HELP!!! I have to get this sucker back together asap. thanks....
