Title: fresh rebuild ran good now not so much why??
Post by: colhel59 on August 27, 2011, 12:30:46 pm
so last night finally got my aaz in my 92 gti but have some issues now. i primed every thing up had fuel comin out the injectors closed the lines up hit the plugs for a burn and she fired right up ran suprisingly well.  i was just runnin it off a jerry can of fuel so i let it warm up a bit and started brappin the throttle some  was all good till i brapped the throttle on time and it reved then shut down. so i tryed restarting it started but wouldnt idle and now smoke white like a son of a gun (raw fuel) so what should i check?? timing is a first for sure but my consurn is if soming got sucked in the pump i guess any thoughts???

Thanks guys
Colton ::)

Timing is definatley the first thing, takes like 10 mins to check the mech. timing, also check the sprocket on the end of the crank, who knows it could have slipped, easiest way it to just try and tighten the 12 point 19mm bolt, if it moves then chances are it slipped.

when i do the can thing i use a beetle filter for carb on end of my hose.. if non filtered you could have sucked something up :(

also have another problem my tach reads to high its has the stock aaz sepentine pullys and i found a diesel tach to use for my car 92 gti. Is the pullys just to big or can i put a resistor in line.

Thanks again guys

are you claiming that you fit serpentine a/c from a mk3 into a mk2?

That doesn't make sence cuz the crank pully is still driving the alt.no matter what other acc you put on it

Did a little reserch on here and found I need to change some resistors in my tach. Its off because at alt is just turning that much fasted diffrent pully sizes
