Title: MKIII AAZ fan control module

My MKIII's fan control module is faulty and I am looking to order a new one but first I wanna know what the difference is between different FCM's since they all look pretty much the same but have different suffixes. Mine is 95 AAZ with AC and a 450w/250w/80w big motor with twin belt driven fan.

The original FCM is a 357 919 506 part number but I cant seem to find one and they are others available with Suffixes A,C,K. I heard that part numbers 357 919 506, 357 919 506 A and 3A0 919 506A are interchangeable.... is that true?

call the dealer, they will be able to tell you if it has been superseded.

How many wires go into the big and small connectors. All the ones I have - have three, but I know some out there have four.

On Vag-cat they list 2 for a 1995 AAZ Golf- 357 919 506 C and D. There are a few different versions depending on engine ,A/C etc etc but if you can find one with the same connectors and wires, it's worth trying

4 wires in the bigger one and 10 pins in the smaller one.

The original one I took out of the car is 357 919 506 without any suffix.
