Title: Auber EGT
Post by: bootlegdsm on May 23, 2011, 07:12:18 pm
I don't want to beat the EGT horse anymore. I just would like to know if I should buy the sealed or exposed probe. I'm set on the gauge, just iffy on the probe. Thanks

I think I have their sealed probe, but the one that is low mass.
works great!

I only saw the 2, one was sealed the other was exposed... I didn't see anything about a low mass one.

hmmm, not listed anymore...

they used to have a k-type EGT probe that was listed for fast response.

you could use the low mass thermocouple that aircraft-spruce sells.

I'm thinking maybe the exposed tip would register a little faster. Do you have a link for the aircraft spruce one you are talking about?

What color LED did you get and is it easy to see in the daytime?

Thanks for the reply:)

I have the red gauge, its easy to read in all but the most direct sunlight.

the exposed tip will certainly react faster.

look for micro 1000

It should be in the faq section as well as the general.

Part number - 10-01478
I believe this is the one I have and is the most popular choice for most people on here.
When compaired to my 1/4" autometer probe, this thing reacts light years faster. ;D
