Title: 1.6 with Eaton M45
Post by: kd4yor on May 19, 2011, 03:27:00 am
I'm considering adding this little blower to a 1.6 NA motor. Just to run it at low boost (3-4) pressure to add power for climbing up hills. Has it been done before or is turbo the easy button

turbo would be SO much easier and cheaper as parts are readily available. How do you plan to mount and spin that supercharger. 3-4psi won't even be noticeable.

I just slapped a turbo on my NA and went straight to 15psi.

It's not like a gasser where ANYTHING above vacuum is awesome.

Oh yeah...great to see another person from GA posting!

a turbo will be better for hill climbing because it supplies more power and boost at lower rpms, it also spools the turbo more under load

a supercharger would be sweet, but a turbo is definitely the easy button..

theres really not enough real estate for a supercharger, let alone a reliable way to drive one.. the crank nose on a 1.6 and AAZ are both weak..
